Nisab Threshold

The nisab is the minimum amount of wealth a Muslim must have before they are liable to pay Zakat. The nisab for gold is 87.48 grams (or 7.5 tolas or ~3 ounces), and for silver, it is 612.36 grams (or 52.5 tolas or ~21.7 ounces).

If the total weight of gold or silver you own equals or exceeds the nisab threshold, you must pay Zakat on it if you've held this wealth for one lunar year (Hijri year). The Zakat rate is 2.5% of the total value of the gold or silver in your possession.

It's advisable to consult with knowledgeable Islamic scholars or local religious authorities to determine the most appropriate Nisab threshold for your specific situation.
